This Delightful Habit

This Delightful Habit

Habit ~ An often-repeated pattern of behavior that can be difficult to give up.

There are good habits, and there are bad habits. First, I wish to talk about what I feel is a rather good habit. It’s my practice of giving away audiobooks to kick off each spring. In other words, host my Annual Spring Fling Audiobook Giveaway.

It’s currently underway. This makes six years in a row. Hooray!

The prizes are up to two audiobooks a day to be awarded starting April 7, 2019, through April 12, 2019, and one $10 Amazon gift card to be awarded at the end of the month.

To make it easy for Austen Authors fans to take part in the contest, the Rafflecopter giveaway form is included below, or you may visit me at my blog, Two Centuries Beyond Pemberley.

Again, hosting an annual audiobook giveaway contest is one of my good habits. What about those bad habits? For instance, spending too much time on Facebook when I really ought to be working. Well, that’s a topic for another day.

What say you? Any habits – good or bad – that you care to share?

Another Giveaway!

Comment below for a chance to win a $5 Gift Card. One prize is up for grabs. Because the gift card will be sent directly from Amazon.com, the winner must be able to redeem the gift card on Amazon.com. Alternatively, the winner may claim an eBook edition of an eligible P.O. Dixon story.

Hurry! The giveaway contest ends on Tuesday, April 9th. Best of luck!

  1. A bad habit of mine is watching repeated programmes on television although I watched it before. Don’t plan to kick the bad habit away as it is one of my source of entertainment.

  2. JAFF is my favorite genre these days! Thanks for the giveaway. Not kicking my habit anytime soon.

  3. Having 200+ JAFF books feels a little like a bad habit…or guilty pleasure. But reader Katzanne’s Star Trek analogy relieves a lot of guilt! (Especially for us Trekkies)

  4. My bad habit is always wanting to read about Darcy & Elizabeth “one more time”! Thank heavens authors like you are here to feed my habit! You are very much appreciated.

  5. Thank you for your latest give away. I’m always on the lookout for one of your books to read. I like to relax in bed with a good JAFF book but I stop reading after just an hour or two and often times find my self awake until early in the morning just before the sun comes up. It’s a good thing I’m retired now and can read whenever I want.

  6. Thanks for the giveaway. My husband has asked why I keep reading about the same people. I told him that, I enjoy reading JAFF like I enjoy watching a series like any of the Star Treks. Each episode has basically the same characters doing different things, sometimes seen from different angles, or thrust into an alternate universe. Scary episodes, funny ones, traffic and heartwarming ones. So now I read more than watch TV. It’s gotten him into reading more too, just not JAFF. :0(

  7. I read every night on my kindle and sometimes when the book is really good I stay up all night reading.

  8. I am like Teresa, reading late til 1am to 3 am. Then I wake up early and go to work. The late night into past mifnight are the only time I can spend reading my P & P variation books except the weekend. Contrary to what studies say, it seems the reading on an electronic device doesn’t affect me. I still get sleepy right at the same time (whether I read or not). Am not sure if this is a bad habit but it makes the day complete

  9. Kindle all the way! I love paper but it’s so much easier to handle and especially travel with my Kindle as long as I have access to electricity, plus I have all my favorite JAFF books whenever I want. I haven’t gotten into audio books but my SO swears by Audible since losing most of eyesight due to glaucoma. Every week I’m returning and downloading books for him. Am willing to try – thank goodness we won’t have dueling Kindles since he bluetooths through his hearing aids!

    • Great point about Kindle versus paper, Patricia. I really enjoy listening to audiobooks for multitasking as well as productivity. Listening often keeps me in my seat, whereas I will set aside a reading device after a quarter hour or so. 🙂

  10. My worst habit is reading until 2 or 3 in the morning, Then not wanting to get up. And it’s a very hard habit to break!

  11. My habit is to read all over – I have several kindles throughout my house and a Kindle app on my phone.

    • I can relate, Robin. I have so many kindles, including one I have never even opened. I keep telling myself that I am going to give it away during a contest. One day! 🙂

  12. My habit is reading All thing Austen everyday including the Austen Authors blog. Thanks fir the giveaway. –Leslie

  13. My habit is not only reading – especially at bedtime, but looking for more books on Amazon, Bookbub and Booksprout everyday, multiple times a day. 🙂

  14. I don’t have Facebook so I don’t have those troubles . My habit too is reading a lot but I don’t think it is a bad habit!lol

  15. Thank you for this great giveaway! I think I would pick “Only a Heartbeat Away: Pride and Prejudice Novella” but I am not sure since there are a few I would like.
