This month, before we get to the main topics, we must take a bit of time to introduce our new Austen Authors.
Collins Hemingway … is a graduate of the University of Arkansas, Phi Beta Kappa, with a major in English literature and a minor in science. He has a master’s degree in English literature from the University of Oregon, with concentrations in Eighteenth Century literature, Renaissance literature, and modern literature. While his high-tech career gave him a practical understanding of science and business, Hemingway also carried on his passion for the art of storytelling, for the rich history of Georgian-Regency England and the Napoleonic wars, and for Jane Austen’s literature. His own fiction is shaped by the language of the heart and an abiding regard for courage in the face of adversity.

Collins’ debut blog can be read here: Austen and the Big Bow-Wow
Renata McMann … is the pen name of someone who likes to rewrite public domain works. She is fond of thinking “What if?” She loves to write because, as a mathematics teacher at a community college, she feels the need to exercise both sides of her brain. Renata has published five Pride & Prejudice variation short stories, and also collaborates with fantasy author Summer Hanford. Between the two, they have created over fifteen novels and novellas.
Summer Hanford … is an author of Regency, fantasy, science fiction and adventure novels and short stories. Summer has four books in her Thrice Born series and numerous shorter works appearing magazines and anthologies. She lives in Michigan with her husband and compulsory, deliberately spoiled, cats.
For more information about Summer and Renata, their published novels, and links for purchasing, website, and other contact, visit their Author Page.
Their debut blog was a celebration of their newest release (see below) and can be read here: Introducing Renata McMann and her New JAFF, Courting Elizabeth
Gianna Thomas … is a Texas girl who has been in love with Historical Romance, and especially Regency Romance, for many years. But it wasn’t until 2013 that she started writing in those genres. She now has five publications to boast of! Gianna is a ghostwriter of poetry and e-books who became a widow after twenty-two years with her very own Mr. Darcy, who was her second husband. She lives a quiet life in a small Texas town with her cats and loves to read Regency romance and the many variations done by other lovers of Pride and Prejudice.
For more information about Gianna, her published novels, and links for purchasing, website, and other contact, visit her Author Page.
Gianna’s debut blog was on October 3 and can be read here: Who on Earth Is Gianna Thomas?
Jann Rowland … is a Canadian. He enjoys reading and sports, and he also dabbles a little in music, taking pleasure in singing and playing the piano. Though Jann did not start writing until his mid-twenties, writing has grown from a hobby to an all-consuming passion. His interest in Jane Austen stems from his university days when he took a class in which Pride and Prejudice was required reading. However, his first love is fantasy fiction, which he hopes to pursue writing in the future. He now lives in Alberta with his wife of more than twenty years and his three children.
For more information about Jann, his published novels, and links for purchasing, website, and other contact, visit his Author Page.
Jann will debut next Saturday, October 15. Be sure to stop by and welcome him to Austen Authors!
Georgina Young-Ellis … writes romantic, time travel fiction with four books available in her Time Mistress Series. In JAFF, Georgina now has two novels in her Elizabeth, Darcy, & Me series, the second released just a week ago (see below). Georgina lives in Portland, Oregon with her husband who is an artist, writer, and teacher. She is a member of the Screen Actors Guild, and was a stage actress for many years.

It’s been nine years since Cuban singer Alejandro Diaz’s limousine collided with a young Amish woman named Amanda Beiler as she was crossing a New York City street—an accident that ignited the couple’s cross-cultural romance. Amanda loves her husband and their three children, but their fast-paced, lavish Miami lifestyle troubles her. Will her kids grow up never knowing what it’s like to simply be, without chauffeurs, social media, and paparazzi complicating their lives? When she receives a letter from her mother in Pennsylvania inviting the family to visit for Christmas, she seizes the chance to show her children a different way of life.
During their weeklong stay among the Amish community of her youth, Amanda and her family will bake cookies and milk cows, sled and crochet—and reconsider what’s truly important in life. As they prepare for their family Christmas holiday, they’ll have to make momentous decisions about their future and what “happily ever after” truly means.
Art restorer Emily Price has never encountered anything she can’t fix—until she meets Ben, an Italian chef, who seems just right. But when Emily follows Ben home to Italy, she learns that his family is another matter . . .
Emily Price—fix-it girl extraordinaire and would-be artist—dreams of having a gallery show of her own. There is no time for distractions, especially not the ultimate distraction of falling in love.
But Chef Benito Vassallo’s relentless pursuit proves hard to resist. Visiting from Italy, Ben works to breathe new life into his aunt and uncle’s faded restaurant, Piccollo. Soon after their first meeting, he works to win Emily as well—inviting her into his world and into his heart.
Emily astonishes everyone when she accepts Ben’s proposal and follows him home. But instead of allowing the land, culture, and people of Monterello to transform her, Emily interferes with everyone and everything around her, alienating Ben’s tightly knit family. Only Ben’s father, Lucio, gives Emily the understanding she needs to lay down her guard. Soon, Emily’s life and art begin to blossom, and Italy’s beauty and rhythm take hold of her spirit.
Yet when she unearths long-buried family secrets, Emily wonders if she really fits into Ben’s world. Will the joys of Italy become just a memory, or will Emily share in the freedom and grace that her life with Ben has shown her are possible?

Vampire Darcy’s Desire: A Pride and Prejudice Paranormal Vagary by Regina Jeffers
Tormented by a 200-year-old curse and his fate as a half human/half vampire dhampir, Fitzwilliam Darcy vows to live a solitary life rather than inflict the horrors of his life upon an innocent wife and his first born son. However, when he encounters the captivating Elizabeth Bennet, his will is sorely tested.
As a man, Darcy yearns for Elizabeth, but as a vampire, he is also driven to possess her. Uncontrollably drawn to each other, they are forced to confront a different kind of “pride” and his enemy’s “prejudice,” while wrestling with the seductive power of forbidden love. Evil forces, led by George Wickham, the purveyor of the curse, attack from all sides, and Darcy learns his only hope to survive is to align himself with Elizabeth, who is uncannily astute in how to defeat Wickham, a demon determined to destroy each generation of Darcys.
Vampire Darcy’s Desire retells Austen’s greatest love story in a hauntingly compelling tale. Can love be the only thing that can change him?
