New audiobook release(s)!

Last month, I mentioned I was working on getting into audiobooks and shared a link to a sample short Austen story I’d recorded. The extremely enthusiastic response I received gave me the confidence to go ahead, and I recorded all four of my short Austen stories and released them as a single audiobook called A Longbourn Quartet.

You can find A Longbourn Quartet on Amazon Audible, Google Play, Kobo, NOOK audiobooks, Scribd and more. Check out whatever store or library app you get your audiobooks through and search for my name!

Now, you might, depending on which audiobook library you’re browsing, find more Austen content under my name than just A Longbourn Quartet, because Infamous Relations is ALSO in the process of uploading to all platforms! It’s not on Amazon quuuite yet (but should be there VERY SOON) but you can definitely find it on other apps like Scribd, Google Play and more!

I’m lucky in that my voice and intonation is particularly well-suited to narrating Austen, other Regency and Victorian era romance. Almost before I’d finished recording Infamous Relations, another Austen Author from this very group approached to ask if I was narrating for other authors. We came to an agreement to record a short book of theirs as a trial, and though I won’t steal their thunder by announcing it for them, I WILL say that you’ll be seeing an announcement coming QUITE SOON.

And THEN I was approached by a mainstream Regency romance author to record their entire backlist of 45 books, and that’s the story of how I became an audiobook narrator. No, that’s not a joke, as audiobook readers among you are going to realize as my name starts popping up regularly as a narrator in 2020! I do want to record my other Austen books as audiobooks, but right now I’m getting paid pretty well to narrate for other people, so it might be a little while before you see The Best of Relations, Mr. Bingley’s Bride and A Christmas Miracle At Longbourn in audiobook.

If you’re interested in hiring me as a narrator for your own work, you might want to take a look at my narration page on my website for more info, but be quick… I’m already filling up my bookings for the first half of 2020!

  1. Very good, Catherine. I will definitely keep you in mind. I’ve debated about audiobooks but am not quite ready to indulge. I did enjoy your samples.

  2. Lovely! Just listened to your audio sample! Can’t wait to hear more and other author books you narrate.

  3. Congratulations on A Longbourn Quartet and Infamous Relations!

It’s very nice of you not to say whose short story you recorded, but I’m happy to 🙂 It was ours! Catherine recorded one of our works for us and I can enthusiastically recommend working with her in every way. She completed each chapter very quickly and her voice is amazing. As she said, perfectly suited for Regency in general and Austen in particular. She also helped me with the nuts and bolts of uploading the book, as we’ve never done an audio book before. Our book is processing right now and I can’t wait for you all to hear it. Everyone should have Catherine read their books 🙂

  4. One opened door leads to another. Wow! Congratulations on this new venture for 2020. You will be busy. Although I don’t do audio, I’m certainly glad you are doing this because I know so many who do like and use audio. Blessings on this new venture and I hope more doors open for you. Happy New Year!
