When it comes to storytelling, specifically writing books, I have a lot of irons in the fire—at least six stories in varying stages of completion, in fact. The ideas keep coming which is a mixed blessing, I suppose. On the one hand, staying focused remains a challenge. On the other hand, it is far better to have too many ideas than too few.
If you follow me on social media, you may have seen the working cover of my upcoming National Novel Writing Month (NaNoWriMo) project.
What’s the underlying premise? I believe the following definition of the word speaks volumes.
GRAVITY (N.) – c. 1500, “weight, dignity, seriousness, solemnity of deportment or character, importance,” from Old French gravité “seriousness, thoughtfulness” *
Hmm. A Mr. Darcy who is a serious man, an important man, and a man whose deportment is dignified. I think I can work with that. What say you?
I welcome your thoughts, and I encourage you to stay tuned for regular social media updates on my NaNoWriMo journey throughout the month of November.
Giveaway Time!
Many of you are aware of my philosophy where book bundles (box sets) are concerned. They provide an excellent means of introducing my stories to new readers by combining multiple books into one and selling it for the price of one. Of course, existing readers can add missing stories to their growing Pride and Prejudice variations library and save too.
My most recently released box set is titled When the Right Love Comes Along. It includes two of my bestselling stories: Miss Elizabeth Bennet and By Reason, by Reflection, by Everything. Click here to discover more.
One ebook edition of When the Right Love Comes Along is up for grabs. Comment below for a chance to win. The contest ends on Tuesday, October 23, 2018.

I love your stories and am so excited to see what is coming next. So many paths to a happily ever after ?
Thanks so much for reading and enjoying my stories, Brandi. I hope you’ll love the next happily ever after in store. 🙂
Bundles are great. I don’t have any of yours in a boxed set.
I’m glad you like bundles. I hope you’ll have a chance to enjoy some of my mine. 🙂
Ooh la la1 Here’s to book bundles especially when they’re offered by a favoured author. Nice of you to offer a giveaway too.
It’s my pleasure, Janis. Your kind words mean so much to me. Thanks! 🙂
I have all your books so far, and this combined book looks to be another great read!
Thanks, Donna. I am delighted to know how much you enjoy my stories. I hope you’ll enjoy what’s up next. 🙂
Love your books already have by reason but would love to have them together. Keep writing.
Thanks for the encouraging words, Gail. Thanks for reading and enjoying my books as well. 🙂
Have fun with NaNoWriMo, Pam! And thanks for a chance to win your new box set!
You’re welcome, Pam. Thanks for your kind words.
NaNoWriMo too? I’m impressed by how you must organize your time – I don’t know how you do it, but your steadily growing list of books and projects say that you’re a great success at time management. How do you do it??
I write full time now, but in my former life I was a project manager. As for NaNoWriMo, it’s my competitive streak that motivates me. Here’s to seven years in a row crossing the 50k word count mark. 🙂
Congratulations! Wishing you much success in NaNoWriMo!
Thanks so much. I really appreciate your kind words.:)
Congratulations! I would love to read this book.
Thanks, Trish. I hope you’ll love the stories in this box set. 🙂
I buy everything you publish, Ms. Dixon. Thank you for your work and for providing me with endless hours of entertainment!
It’s my pleasure, Michele. Thanks so much for reading and enjoying my stories. I hope you’ll love what’s in store. 🙂
I am constantly amazed by the many ideas writers of JAFF have–more for their fans to lose themselves in!
I agree, Regina. We all can’t help being addicted with so many wonderful HEAs. 🙂
Instead of Darcy bring grave and serious, what about switching it.? Maybe have it be Lizzie and Darcy is the one who is more free spirited. Or Darcy used to be that way, but over time he lost it and she cracks his exterior. So many paths to take. Looking forward to the end result. Your books have never disappoint.
Lovely cover for the box set. Thank you for the opportunity to win these stories.
You’re welcome, Courtney. I love your ideas. You’re right–so many paths. Thanks for reading and enjoying my stories. 🙂
That’s a lot of irons in the fire at one time! But I guess that’s how I read, too, with lots of WIP on JAFF sites. Thanks for sharing your writing with us and for the chance to win the boxed set!
It’s my pleasure. I’m looking forward to completing half of them by the end of the year. Wish me luck! 🙂
Its beginning to feel like the holidays with a giveaway as luscious as this one!!
I’m looking forward to the start of the holiday season and the more giveaways the better. 🙂
I love box sets, especially those of Pride and Prejudice. Thanks for giving us the opportunity to win a copy.
It’s my pleasure. I’m so happy to know you’re a fan of box sets too.
I am almost as addicted to ur books as i am to Jane Austen’s. (she’s my go-to for whatever reason & now u r too). Needless to say, I love ur books especially the bundles. Keep them coming!
Thanks so much for your kind words, Cindy. I am delighted to know how much you love reading my books. 🙂
I love when books are bundled together. Great looking cover.
Thanks so much for letting me know how much you like the cover. I really hope you’ll love how the story unfolds. Every day brings me closer to a solid outline, but then again who knows how things will turn out once NaNoWriMo is in full swing. 🙂
Thanks for the opportunity to win this boxed set, Pam. I adore the covers as they are all stunning. All the best in NaNoWriMo. I will be cheering for you.
You’re welcome. Thanks so much for your kind words. Your encouragement means a lot to me. 🙂
Btw, love the cover
Thanks so much. It’s the screen saver on my new smart phone. This way, a serious Mr. Darcy accompanies me everywhere I go. 🙂
That is awesome!! Love books bundles. That is amazing working on at least 6 stories….looking forward to those.
This gravity – sounds like a really serious Mr Darcy…maybe balance it with seriously, playful Lizzie 😉
Thank you for this opportunity to earn another one of your books.
It’s my pleasure. You’re right about Elizabeth. I’ve been toying with the idea of telling the entire story from Darcy’s POV, but then it might be too serious. 😉
How many books in the fire? Good for you. I always enjoy new tales by a favorite author. Keep writing!
Too many books, I think. 🙂 I’m trying to get in the habit of waking up at around 5 am to knock off the first 1,000 words before starting my day in preparation for NaNoWriMo. I really appreciate your kind words.
I love book bundles too, for the same reasons. I almost always find something great! Thank you for this wonderful offer!
It’s my pleasure. Thanks for letting me know you like book bundles too. 🙂
This bundle of two of your popular books sounds amazing. I love bundles as readers can expand their libraries with those missed books they have on their wish list. Thanks for this delightful post and for the drawing. Good Luck everyone.
You’re welcome. Thanks for letting me know you love bundles. Best of luck to you as well. 🙂
I appreciate an author who has many ideas for new novels since then I will never run out of books about P & P. Your idea for Gravity has me curious to read about my favorite Mr. Darcy. Thanks for the giveaway. –Leslie
It’s my pleasure, Leslie. I really hope you enjoy how Gravity unfolds. 🙂
I, too, like books bundled and I have not read these two. Thank you for the giveaway. The definition of Gravity perfectly suits Mr. Darcy. So, what is the story? You are quite amazing to be able to jiggle so many stories at once. I am quite sure that I would get everything mixed up!
I keep telling myself I will stop finding myself in this position. But the ideas keep coming. I’m committed to finishing every work-in-progress–it’s just a matter of time.
I’m delighted to know you like book bundles. Thanks! 🙂
I am excited about Gravity; it sounds amazing! 🙂
And I added your newest boxed set to my “to buy soon” list on Amazon.
I wish you all the best for NaNoWriMo. I haven’t been able to participate for the last several years because of my teaching schedule, but this fall my research class finishes on Nov 5, so perhaps I can squeeze it in. Our local writer’s group is hosting a community “Write-In” at our little village library on a Saturday in mid-November; it’s so fun to write in community!
Warmly,
Susanne 🙂
Thanks, Susanne. I appreciate your kind wishes. NaNoWriMo is always fun especially when I can manage a 5-figure word count day. I think I have managed it at least twice during the past 6 years. I hope you have a chance to participate this year. 🙂
I look forward to Gravity and I wish you great success for NaNoWriMo, I can’t imagine the pressure for that month! Don’t put me in for a set, I already have both books. Happy writing!!
I appreciate your kind words, Lynn. Pre-NaNo planning kicks off next week. I’m getting excited about this project. 🙂
Congratulations! Wish I had even ONE idea for a story. Guess I’m just meant to read them. Thanks for the chance to win a copy!
You’re welcome. Linda. The ideas and covers are the easy part for me. Looks like I’m going to be very busy for the next few months. 🙂
Congratulations! I love boxsets of books 🙂
Thank you for the chance to win a copy.
It’s my pleasure, Virginia. I’m glad you’re a fan of boxsets. Thanks!
