A New Book Baby and Giveaway

A New Book Baby and Giveaway

I’m looking at the date (June 17th as I write this) and shaking my head. The month of June is half over, which means 2018 is almost half over! After the long winter we had, I’m taking every chance I can get to be outside, enjoying the green grass and the flowers … and the heat! As I write this, I’m sitting outside on the back patio of Burton Cottage, with my laptop on the bistro table and my bum in the small, hard, iron chair. It’s hotter than blue blazes outside, but I’m in the shade, my dogs are gamboling (or what passes for it when one is 12 and the other not quite 2) at my feet, and the grass is a bright green. (And not very tall, which is a good thing when you are not only mistress of your home, but also the groundskeeper!) In the distance, I can see yellow flowers in the flower bed. I don’t remember what they are now (I think they might be lilies), but I know that Sharon Lathan had some growing at her front door last year. 😀

Anyway, I’m getting ready to release my third book of the year, a Regency tale titled To Save Elizabeth. I had hoped to have it out this month, and there is a small chance it might happen, but it could also be in early July. We’ll just have to wait and see. LOL

As always, I have posted excerpts on my blog on Thursdays for the last 13 weeks, and have given my Patreon patrons entire chapters plus some outtakes. I know my blog readers are getting impatient to read the entire story, so I am pushing hard to get edits complete and get it published.

You may already know that I have recently expanded into large-print editions of my books. I have two already out for sale: Darcy’s Surprise Betrothal and Decisions and Consequences. To Save Elizabeth will be released with both regular print and large print editions to go along with the ebook.

I’m giving away ebook copies of my new book this month, and you will find the details at the bottom of the post, above my logo. Sometimes, I share an excerpt of the book, but this time, I decided to share the blurb with you. I hope it intrigues you and makes you want to read more!

She wasn’t supposed to survive, but now that she has, he’d give his life to protect her.

Having been through a harrowing ordeal, Elizabeth Bennet is left in the care of her aunt and uncle and with scars that run deep.

Fitzwilliam Darcy has been moving along with little to rock the boat of his life until one day when a pretty, young woman nearly faints in front of him.

The encounter sparks Darcy’s curiosity and soon has him entangled in a story of intrigue and danger while his heart becomes irrevocably lost to Elizabeth. However, if he wishes to help her heal her scars and claim her as his own, he’s going to have to save her first.

To Save Elizabeth is just one of Zoe Burton’s novel-length Pride and Prejudice variations. If you like brave heroines, strong heroes, and sweet romance mingled with a dash of danger, you’ll love Zoe’s newest take on Jane Austen’s classic tale.  Pick up your copy of To Save Elizabeth and lose yourself in a world of peril and sweet happily ever after with Darcy and Lizzy today.

Giveaway details: I’m giving away two ebook copies of To Save Elizabeth. The giveaway is international. To enter, simply leave a comment on this post. As I have done in the past, winners will receive a link to Bookfunnel, where they may choose the file (epub or mobi/Kindle) they want to receive. The giveaway ends at 11:59pm Eastern Time on July 3, 2018. Winners will be announced on July 8, 2018. PLEASE NOTE: Prizes will not be awarded until the book has been released.

  1. I am a loyal fan, and have enjoyed your book so much. I am looking forward to reading this one

  2. Don’t know where my yesterday’s comment went to but here it goes … Loving this story & can’t wait for it to be published.

  3. Well, yesterday was 103 in the shade in Northern California! Thank goodness for central ac! Was hoping to escape early to Newport Oregon but as you know life happens … Thankful for your writings, re-reading them passes the time until we leave for cooler climes. Love the way this story is going – not really a dog person (especially a Great Dane, they’re taller than me!) but have seen the special healing bonds between people and animals. Think I have almost all of your books in my Kindle – will wait patiently to add this one. Thank you again.

  4. Well, THAT was a great blurb. Count me in. The story sounds yummy. I love the cover too, I’m (sorry!) not much of a dog person, at least for me. I’m like a grandma that loves her grandchildren to distraction but is relieved when she sends them home to their deserving parents. Our friends’ dogs are great, but I don’t want to own one. I love books with dogs playing an important side part. I’ve always had an utter fascination with Great Danes. Can’t wait to read about him in your new book.

On my own pre-ereader’s behalf I thank you for producing the large print books, Zoe. Because I would’ve been desperate trying to find them starting in the past 7 or 8 years.

    • You’re welcome, and thank you! I have to laugh about sending dogs home with their parents. My dogs are like kids … toddlers at times! LOL Best wishes in the drawing! 🙂

  5. I love the book blurb and look forward to reading the whole story. Thanks for the chance to win a copy!

  6. Can’t wait to read this one! Cover pic with dog makes me think of the scene in the 1995 p&p where Elizabeth’s playing with the dog and Darcy’s watching her from his window! Congrats on the new book! ??

  7. This sounds amazing. I am so excited that you have a new book launch. Congratulations and best wishes in the success of this book. Thank you for doing large print for those who need it… they deserve an opportunity to enjoy your stories. Thanks for the generous give-a-way. I am really curious about the dog on the cover. I think he might have something to do with her emotional support and or protection. Yes??? Guess I’ll just have to wait and see.

  8. Ah, this is certainly going to be a wonderful story, especially as it contains a brave and loyal canine friend. I’ll be glad to win a copy (otherwise, I’d just have to buy it when it’s published 😉 ).

  9. I have not read any of the excerpts or chapters so this is a new interesting book in my scope and it does sound intriguing. Will look for it to be released. Thanks for sharing. And thanks for a chance to win a copy. I love that on my kindle and the apps on my computer and phone I can enlarge the font size so a large print edition would not be necessary for me.

    • Lots of people do prefer to use their ereaders and make the fonts bigger, but I have discovered that many people still prefer print. I’m happy that I can provide them now. 🙂 Best wishes in the drawing!

  10. Congratulations! Love the cover with the Great Dane and the premise sounds very intriguing! Thank you for a chance at the giveaway! I prefer cooler temps but enjoy heat without the humidity. It’s the humidity that makes it uncomfortable for me…

    • Oh, humidity is a terrible thing! I confess that I get mean when I’m hot and sweaty. LOL I have installed the window a/c units already in the Mistress’ Chambers and Study, and I used one of them last week! I usually refuse to do it until after July 1, but I was miserable and could not write, and that needed to be rectified. LOL Best wishes in the drawing! 🙂

  11. Personally, I can’t handle the heat. It is easier to get warm than it is to cool off! Congratulations on the new book baby! Thank you for the chance to win a copy.

    • I love Great Danes, and had I the funds to redo the fence around the yard to 9′, I’d have gotten a Dane instead of Boxers. But, I’m happy with my Boxer babies. <3 Best wishes in the drawing!

  12. Zoe, the cover is awesome! I can hardly wait to read the entire story. Love the big doggie.

  13. As far as summer is concerned we have had one day – the forecast for tonight is either 15cm of snow or rain.
Now I am curious about Elizabeth’s ordeal

    • Glad I don’t live in the frozen north like you do! LOL I don’t know how you do it. Kudos to you for dealing with all that snow and cold! Best wishes in the drawing! 🙂

  14. I too love the warmth of summer! The book sounds great! Thanks for a chance to win! I hope the dog figures in the story too! Lol

  15. Does the dog on the cover play a part in Elizabeth’s recovery? She is certainly not one to faint (not a swoon) so something must have happened. I, too, like a little danger mixed in while we watch of DOC come together. Sorry, but I do not like the heat and humidity, and, yes, those are lilies. I also have them in my garden. Thank you for the giveaway and congratulations on your new book.

    • I was right about the flowers! Go, me! LOL Thanks for confirming that! 😀 No, Lizzy is not one to suffer fears, but the accident she was in was a bad one. Brutus is the dog’s name and he does play a big part in her recovery. Best wishes in the drawing! 🙂

    • Yay, I got you hooked! 😀 Summer is my favorite time of year, and I spend far too much of it cooped up working. I work from home and I think it’s about time I started working in the shade outside, you know? Best wishes in the drawing! 😀

  16. After reading the excerpt, it will be hard to wait for the release date. Congratulations on your new book. Thanks for the giveaway.

  17. This sound so interesting!!!!!!!!!!! And by the way thank you for this amazing giveaway..

  18. Thank you for the giveaway, this sounds like a really interesting book that I am adding to my TBR List.

  19. I’m hooked, sitting here wondering what the harrowing ordeal could be that it left scars and that Lizzy is being cared for by the Gardiners rather than at home at Longbourn. Looking forward to reading this variation.

  20. You had me from the first line, Zoe! This sounds quite intriguing and I love the cover with the dog (loyal companions not featured enough in my humble opinion.

Congratulations and thank you for the chance to win a copy. 🙂
