  • Happy 4th to everyone! Every year on the 4th, my family watches the musical “1776″ which is about John Adams, Thomas Jefferson, Benjamin Franklin, and the Continental Congress as they debated and finally voted for independence. It’s an entertaining and fairly accurate historical depiction of events and a good reminder about the courage and sacrifices made by the founders of our country. What are some of your family’s Fourth of July traditions?

  • We watch the broadcast of the National Concert on the Mall in Washington. We used to watch the Boston Pops, until it got pulled off PBS for a shortened version on broadcast TV (rats).

I’m a day late but I’m wearing my Stars and Stripes flip flops from Old Navy and my Williamsburg, Virginia, t-shirt that also has some stars and stripes. I watched some of the fireworks shows on T.V. last night. There were lots of fireworks going off in my neighborhood and the people across the street were setting some off in the street.
