The Austen Escape ARC Giveaway

Happy Book Day!

This idea came to me when writing The Bronte Plot. Wednesday was Lucy’s day to dust, repair, sort and market her beloved antique books. I liked the idea of focusing on books one day a week – so on Wednesdays I post about the books I’m reading, writing, hearing about in the news or things generally occurring in the world of literature. It’s Book Day!

Today, I wanted to share a new book with you. My newest story still has a couple months until release (11/7/2017), but the publisher sent me few ARCs – and I’d like to give one away. I only needed one to find all words and little typos that needed changing in that last round of copy edits – the rest are fun to share. And considering it’s titled The Austen Escape, I thought this might be a good place to do just that. 😉

Here’s a little about Mary and Isabel’s story:

Mary Davies finds safety in her ordered and productive life. Working as an engineer, she genuinely enjoys her job and her colleagues – particularly a certain adorable and intelligent consultant. But something is missing. When Mary’s estranged childhood friend, Isabel Dwyer offers her a two-week stay in a gorgeous manor house in England, she reluctantly agrees in hopes that the holiday will shake up her quiet life in just the right ways.

But Mary gets more than she bargained for when Isabel loses her memory and fully believes she lives in Jane Austen’s Bath. While Isabel rests and delights in the leisure of a Regency lady, attended by other costume-clad guests, Mary uncovers startling truths about their shared past, who Isabel was, who she seems to be, and the man who now stands between them.

Outings are undertaken, misunderstandings play out, and dancing ensues as this company of clever, well-informed people, who have a great deal of conversation, work out their lives and hearts.

Please leave a comment about your favorite Austen book or movie (or name the source for the quote I used above) – or say anything about books you’d like to share on this book day. That will be your “entry.” A comment will be randomly selected when the giveaway closes at 11:59 EDT on Tuesday, September 12th.

Thank you! Enjoy the day!

Katherine
